Raag Bilaaval (Bilawal) M.5.

A Sikh sings about his love for God. I have fallen in love with God. It is an enduring love and it cannot be sundered by any means (cutting or untying it) as it has been bestowed by God Himself.

“Me Lallan seyo preet banee (rahao); tori na tutay shori na chutay aisi Madho khinch tanee.”

Love for You dwells in my mind day and night; Lord, bless me with Your Mercy; I am a sacrifice to my Beauteous Lord; I have heard His Indescribable Story.

“Dinas rein man mahe basaat hai Tu kar kirpa Prabh Apni; Bal bal jaoo Siamm Sundar ko Akath Katha ja ki baat sunee.”

Servant Nanak is the slave of Your slaves; O my Lord and Master, bless me with Your Mercy.

“Jan Nanak dassan dass kahiat hai mohe karo kirpa Prabh Apni.”

Bhai Ji further elaborated on December 21, 2024:

In Punjabi, the words “bann aayi” convey the meaning that some relationship has been repaired and things are very good between two people.

In Gurbani this phrase is often used to show fulfilment of a Sikh’s love with his Guru. The relationship is now firm and attracts His Grace.

At Angg 614, a Sikh says I have a loving relationship with my Guru.
“Ham Santan seyo bann aayi.”

Angg 850. Some envious ones will slander your name with the Guru and accuse you of many things. If one has a bann aayi relationship with God, he carries on unafraid as,
“Kya hovay kis hi ki chakh maari ja Sache seyo bann aayi.”

At Angg 915, a Sikh exclaims in joy. I am attuned to the Shabad and the Lord has saved me.
“Andh koop bikhiya te kaadiyo Sach Shabad bann aayi.”

At Angg 1043, Guru Ji says old age and death cannot even look at you if you are blessed with harmony with the Lord.
“Jra jam tis johe na saake jis Sache seyo bann aayi he.”

At Angg 1213, Guru Ji says when the Lord, who eradicates all pain is Merciful, then one becomes attuned with the Saints (Guru, Shabad).
“Bheyo Dyal Kirpal dukh harta Santan seyo bann aayi.”

In this Shabad a Sikh gushes about his love for God. He has been blessed with love for the Beloved Lord.
“Mu Laalan seyo Preet banni.”

It is a love which cannot be broken, nor released. This love has a firm clasp which pulls you ever closer to Him.
“Torhi na toote chori na chuthe aisee Madho khinch tanni.”
