SGGS Angg 210.
Raag Gauree (Gauri) M.5.
Guru Ji tells all of us that there can be no true peace or happiness without bhagti – loving devotional worship of God using Naam. All pleasures of the world are transitory.
There can be no true peace without devotional worship of God; be victorious, meditate upon Him in Sadhsanggat even for an instant, and you can win the precious jewel of this human life.
“Sukh nahi re Har bhagat bina; jeet janam eh rattan amolak Sadhsanggat japp eik khinna.”(rahao).
Countless had to leave behind their children, wealth, spouses, joyful games, and pleasures.
“Sutt sampatt banita binodh; chodh gaye baho logh bhog.”
Horses, elephants and the thrill of power; leaving these behind, the fool must depart naked.
“Haivar gaivar raaj rang; tyaag chaliyo hai murh nang.”
The body scented with musk and sandalwood; that very body shall lie ignobly in the dust.
“Choa chandan deh phuliya; so tann dhar sang ruliya.”
Infatuated with emotional attachment, they think God is far away; Nanak says, He is ever present.
“Mohe mohiya jaane duur hai; kaho Nanak sada hadoor hai.”
