Raag Gaund M.4
A jeev isteri is at breaking point. She is deeply in love with her Beloved, and the loving Arrows of Naam have pierced her heart. She expresses her anguish at not yet having seen her Beloved.
My mind yearns so deeply for the Lord’s Darshan, like a thirsty person without water.
“Har Darshan ko mera mann baho taptay jio trikhavant bin neer.”
My mind has been pierced by the Arrow (Shabads) of the Lord’s Love; the Lord God knows my anguish, and the deep pain within my mind.
“Mere mann prem laggo Har teer; hamri bedhan Har Prabh jaane mere mann antar ki pirh.” (rahao).
Anyone who tells me Stories of my Beloved Lord is my brother, my friend.
“Mere Har Pritam ki koyi baat sunavhe so bhai so mera bir.”
Come, join me my companions, let us speak of the Lord’s Glorious Praises and follow the comforting Advice of the True Guru.
“Mil mil sakhi gunn kaho mere Prabh ke leh Satgur ki matt dheer.”
Please fulfill the wishes of servant Nanak. It is only with Your Blessed Darshan, that my body will find peace.
“Jan Nanak ki Har aas pujavho Har Darshan shaant sareer.”

Bairaag – sincere Love for God, and detachment from the world is an essential element of Prema Bhagti.
In this Shabad, the jeev says she is truly thirsty for the Blessed Darshan of the Lord.
“Har Darshan ko mera mann baho tapte jio trikhavant bin neer.”
Her mind has been pierced by the Arrow (Gurbani) of the Lord’s Love.
“Mere mann prem laggo Har Teer.”
Only the Master Himself knows the pain (of separation from the Lord) deep within my mind.
“Hamri bedhan Har Prabh jaane mere mann antar ki peerh. ”
Anyone who shares Bani (Divine Stories about the Beloved) is my brother and friend.
“Mere Har Pritam ki koyi Baat sunavhe so bhai so mera bir.”
The entire Kirtan is a loving plea for Darshan of Nirankar Ji.
