Raag Gauree (Gauri) M.5.
Guru Ji tells us of the blessings which flow as you sing His Praises. Guru Ji also tells us of the miseries which befall those who forsake the Lord.
Blessed is that place where the Glorious Praises of the Lord are sung. (place means the human body, and Sadhsanggat); God Himself bestows peace and joy there.
“Dhan eh thaan Gobind gunn gaaye; kusal khem Prabh Aap basaaiye.” (rahao).
Misfortune comes where there is no loving remembrance of the Lord; (in contrast) there are millions of joys where the Lord’s Praises are sung.
“Bipatt taha jaha Har simran nahi; kote anand jeh Har gunn gaahi.”
As you forsake the Lord, all kinds of pains and diseases well up; as you serve the Lord, the messenger of death cannot come near you.
“Har bisriye dukh rogh ghanerey; Prabh sewa jam lagge na nerhey.”
Very blessed and permanent is that place; where the Name of the Lord alone is recited.
“So vadhbhagee nichall thaan; jeh japiye Prabh keval Naam.”
Wherever I go the Lord is with me; Nanak has been blessed to meet the Inner Knower of all hearts.
“Jeh jaaiyeh teh naal mera Suami ; Nanak ko miliya Antarjami.”
