SGGS Angg 369-370
Raag Assa M.4
A jeev isteri, drenched with love for God, pleads for Union and His Darshan. She speaks to her inner self.
At Angg 151 Guru Nanak Dev Ji tells “mata matt pita santokh” i.e. the plea to Mai is to her inner self, to all the matt she possesses.
She pleads. O mother, please tell me about the Beloved Lord; I cannot live without Him even for an instant. My love for Him is as the camel who loves to eat the vines (the camel cannot resist any creeper he sees, and quickly grips them to graze upon).
“Mai mero Pritam Raam batavho ri mai; hao Har bin khin pal reh na sako jaise karhal belh rijayi.”(rahao).
My mind has become drenched with love, and I am distanced from the world. I long for Darshan of my Friend, the Lord; as the bumblebee cannot resist the lotus, just so, I cannot live without the Lord.
“Hamra mann bairaag birkatt bheyo Har Darshan Meet ke tayi; jaise alh kamla bin reh na sakay taise mohe Har bin rehan na jaaye.”
Keep me in Your Sanctuary O Beloved Master of the Universe, and please fulfill my ardent desire (to meet You); servant Nanak’s mind is filled with bliss as he beholds the Vision of the Lord shown to him, even for an instant.
“Raakh Sharan Jagdisar Pyare mohe sharda purh Har Gosaien; jan Nanak ke mann anand hote hai Har Darshan nimakh dikhayee.”

A jeev isteri goes deep within her being and speaks to her matt.
“Mata matt Pita santokh”
Mayee, refers to her matt.
She knows her Pritam (Beloved) Ram (who is Pervading everywhere (Rameiaya hoya), dwells within her body, yet she has not been able to get His Darshan.
Prema Bhagti will lead to such a state of bairaag.
Bairaag breaks of all bondages of maya (bin bairaag na chutas maya – SGGS Ji Ang 329) and the yearning of bairaag is rewarded with Darshan. (mann bairaag bheya Darshan dekhan ka chaoo – Ang 50).
Darshan takes place intuitively (anbhao).
“Tripat Aghaye rehiya hai Santo Gur Anbhao Purakh Dikharia Jio.” (Ang 97).
