Sikh history records there were 4 attempts on the life of the child Hargobind Ji. Each time, the child was saved by God. Guru Arjun Dev Ji wrote quite a number of Shabads in shukrana.
These Shabads apply to all of us at all times.
The Supreme Lord through the Divine Guru has saved His child; we have been blessed with Celestial Peace, Tranquility, and Bliss. My service has been Perfected.
“Aapne balak Aap rakhiyan Parbrahm Gurdev; sukh shaant sahaj anand bhaye puran bheyi sev.” (rahao).
God Himself hears the prayers of His Saints; the Lord of Great Glorious Radiance, dispelled all disease, and rejuvenated all.
“Bhagat janna ki bentee suni Prabh Aap; rogh mitaye jivaliyan ja ka Vad Partaap.”
He forgave my sins, and interceded with His Power; Nanak is a sacrifice to the Lord who has blessed me with the fruits of my mind’s desires.
“Dokh hamare bakshiyan Aapni kalh dharee; mann banshatt falh ditiyan Nanak baliharee.”

Guru Arjun Dev Ji has many Shabads in shukrana to God for saving the child Hargobind Ji.
These Shabads are a reminder to all of us that we must constantly live in shukrana. There would be many instances where you were ill, or your child was unwell. After some medicene, or therapy, the cure became effective. How often do we pause to Thank God for saving us or our child?. We must spend time in Shukrana for all the Mercies and Blessings He constantly showers upon us.
