Raag Maroo

An Astpadhi from Raag Maru. It is titled “Anjolian” i.e. to stand in reverence before the Divine One with hands cupped in prayer.

Guru Ji compares the opulent ones with the paupers. The rich are full of anxiety. They employ body guards. Have high fences around their houses, and are always in fear of robberies or somehow losing their wealth.

The paupers on the other hand are constantly in the pursuit of maya. They are never at rest.

Beyond these two states, is one who is at peace, has full faith in God as the Only Provider, and goes about his daily tasks without any anxiety. Guru Ji says,

“Jis greh bahut tisse greh chinta; jis greh thori so fireh bhramanta; dohu bivastha te jo mukta soyee suhela bhaaliye.”
