Raag Gujri M.3
In Gujri Ki Vaar M.3, Guru Amardas Ji has 9 Sloks with the words “Waho Waho”, Hail!, Hail!, Glory be!, Glory be!.
These Sloks describe the feeling of awe and amazement felt by a Sikh. He expresses his shukrana, and celebrates this rare chance of a human life.
The humble being upon whom the Lord Himself bestows understanding, expresses “Waho Waho”; as he expresses amazement and Praise of the Lord, his mind gets purified and his egotism departs.
“Waho Waho se jann sada kare jinn ko Aape de bujhaiye; Waho Waho kartiyan mann nirmal hovay haumai vicho jaaye.”
The gursikh who continually chants Praises of the Lord, attains the fruits of his mind’s desires; Lord, those humble ones who express their awe of You are beauteous, please lead me to meet them.
“Waho Waho gursikh jo nitt kare so mann chindiya falh paaye; Waho Waho kare se jaan sohne Har tinn ke sang milaaiye.”
Within my heart I express my awe of Him, and with my mouth too I chant Waho Waho; Nanak says, I pledge my mind and body to those who continually express Waho Waho.
“Waho Waho hirday uchraa mukho bhi Waho Waho kareo; Nanak Waho Waho jo kare hao tann mann tinn ko deo.”
