A Sikh who regards himself as a child, speaks to God, whom he regards as his Father and Mother. He knows he has taken many liberties in his daily conduct, but has always been confident of the Lord’s Love for him.

Confident of Your Love, I have taken many liberties; like a foolish child I have made mistakes, but O Lord, You are my Father and Mother (I am sure You will Correct me and Protect me).

“Tere bharose Pyare mai laad ladaiyaa; bhule chuke barak Tu Har Pita Maaiya.”

It is easy to say and talk; but it is most difficult to accept Your Will.

“Suhela kahan kahaavan; Tera bhikham bhaavan.” (rahao).

I take pride in You and derive my strength from You, regarding You as mine; You are within all and outside all too. You are Incomparably Independent.

“Hao maan taan karho Tera hao jaano aapa; sabh hi madh sabh te bahar Behmohtaj Bapa”

Father, I know not Your Ways; (but I know) O Saints, He frees us from bondage, and removes our grip on worldliness.

“Pita hao jaano nahi Teri kavan jugta; bandhan mukat Santho meri rakhe mamta.”

When my Lord gives His Grace, my comings and goings in reincarnation are ended; as I Unite with the Guru (Shabad), I recognize (see) the Lord.

“Bhaye Kirpaal Thakur rehyo aavan jaana; Gur milh Nanak Parbrahm pechaana.”
