Sawaiyee (Swaiyye) Mehle Chauthe Ke.
Bhatt Mathura Ji has 14 Swaiyyas in SGGS Ji. 7 are in Praise of Guru Ramdas Ji, while another 7 are in Praise of Guru Arjun Dev Ji.
In this 5th Swaiyya in Praise of Guru Ramdas Ji, Bhatt Mathura Ji first speaks about various persons and methods employed over the ages to reach out to God.
In their search for Him, the silent sages wandered through all the ages, yet rarely anyone had inner enlightenment about the Lord; to meet Him Brahma sang the hymns of the Vedas, while Shiva and the rishi munis held tight to Kailash mountain.
“Ja ko munn dhyan dhare firatt saggal jug kabhu ke kouu paavhe aatam pargass ko; Bedh Bani sahit Biranch jass gaavhe ja ko Shiv munn geh n tajaat Kabhilas ko.”
To seek the Lord, the yogis, celebates and siddhas and seekers, countless fanatics with matted hair and religious robes, wandered around as renunciates.
“Jo ko jogi jati sidh sadhak anek tap jatta jute bhekh kiye firat udhaas ko.”
It was upon the Satguru (Ramdas Ji), that He lovingly Granted His Grace to all beings, by bestowing the Glory of Naam to Guru Ramdas.
“So Tin Satgur sukh bhaye kirpa dhari ji Naam ki badaiyee dee Gur Ramdas ko.”
