SGGS Ang 293.

Raag Gauree – Sukhmani Sahib.

This is pada 4 of Astpadhi 22.

Guru Ji tells us of the Blessings that flow upon you, when in utter humility, you commit yourself to His One Name. All his hopes do not go in vain i.e. they get fulfilled.

“Jann laaga Har Ekay Naaye; tis ki aas na birthi jaaye.”

Sewa of the Lord befits/is becoming of the sewak. He understands the Lord’s Hukam and rises to the Supreme Status.

“Sewak ko sewa bann aayi; Hukam boojh Param Padh paayi.”

There is no higher thought than this; within his mind abides the Formless Lord.

“Eis te upar nahi bichaar; ja ke mann bassiya Nirankar.”

His bonds are cut away and he becomes free from hatred; Night and day he worships the Feet of the Guru (Bani).

“Bandhan torh bhye nirvair; andinn pujhe Gur ke Pair.”

Such a person is at peace in this world and happy hereafter; Nanak says, the Lord Unites him with Himself.

“Eh lok sukhiye parlok suhele; Nanak Har Prabh Aape melhe.”
