Raag Bihagara

Slok M.3. Bihagde Ki Vaar M.4

Gurbani applies to us internally and outwardly too.

Here, Guru Ji tells a Sikh what he should do. The Sikh says, the Guru told me to do this.

“Satguru furmaiya kari eh kareho.”

Go to the Guru’s Dwara (physical Gurdwara, and the inner Dwara in our mind), and meditate, reflect upon the Lord Master.

“Guru Dware hoye ke Sahib samaleho.”

The Lord Master is Always Present, let Him tear away your veil of doubt, and enshrine His Divine Light (Jote) within your mind.

“Sahib sada hajoor hai bharme ke shaurh katt ke antar Jote dhareho.”

The Lord’s Name is Ambrosia (makes you eternal, immortal), you must use/apply His Name as your healing medicine.

“Har ka Naam Amrit hai Daru eh laeheho.”

Always enshrine the Will of the True Guru (Essence of the Shabad) in your heart, and your self discipline should be your True Love for Him.

“Satgur Ka Bhana chit rakho sanjam Sacha Neho.”

All this will ensure that He keeps you in peace here, and hereafter, you shall live joyously with the Lord.

“Nanak ethe sukhe andar rakhsi aghe Har seyo kel kareho.”
