SGGS Ang 713

Raag Todee (Todi) M.5.

We start the spiritual journey with our tongues – our rasnaa.

“Rasna gunn Gopal nidh gaeen.”

The result of singing His Praises? An inner peace envelops you and your sorrows vanish.

“Shaant sahaj rahas man upjiyo saglay dukh palaeen” (rahao).

As you go into sewa of His Charan full of bliss, all your wishes get fulfilled.

“Jo maange soyi soyi paave sev Har ke Charan rasaeen”

As the sewak goes even higher in avastha, he is released from the bondages of births and deaths and crosses the world ocean.

“Janam maran dohu te chutay bhavjal jagat taraeen.”

The inner search has been very intense and the sewak now understands the essence of the Lord; he is a dass of Govind.

“Khojat khojat tatt bichareoo dass Govind paraeen.”

As a final piece of advice, the Satguru advises His Sikhs. If you seek eternal bliss, O Nanak always remember the Lord in meditation.

“Ahinasee khem chahay je Nanak sadaa simar Narayan.”

Bhai Ji further elaborated on December 12, 2025:

The Path to Union starts with recital of His Name.

The initial steps are with the tongue – “Rasna Gunn Gopal Nidh Gaeen.”

As your avastha rises, you go into deep simran, where the Naam is recited by the mann, no longer by the tongue/rasna.

With His Grace, it turns into “Ajappa Jaap” or sada simran. Only at that avastha with His Grace, does He allow Union and Darshan.

“Abhinasi khem chahe je Nanak sada simar Narayan.”
