Raag Sorath – Bhagat Bhikhan Ji.

Bhagat Ji has two Shabads in SGGS Ji.

In this Shabad, Bhagat Ji tells us about a man who is hopelessly ill. No medicine works on him. Bhagat Ji says even in that seemingly hopeless situation, the Lord’s Name can save him.

His situation is very bad. Tears well up in his eyes, the body is weak, and the hair is milky white; the throat is tight, full of phlegm, and he cannot utter even one word; what can a mere mortal do?

“Naino neer bahe tann kheena bhaye kesh dudh vanee; ruda kanth shabad nahi uchre ab kya kare pranee.”

Appeal to Him.

Lord, Gardener of the world garden please be my Physician; You save Your Saints.

“Raam Rai hoye Baid Banvaree; Apne Sante leho ubaree.” (rahao).

The head aches, the body is burning and the heart is filled with anguish; he is struck with such a disease that no medicine can cure him.

“Mathey pirh sareer jallan hai karak karejey mahee; aisee bedhan upaj kharee bhayee va ka aukhad nahee.”

The Name of the Lord, is the Immaculate Pure Water, this is the True Medicine for the entire world; Bhikhan says, by Guru’s Grace, I have found the Door of Salvation. (Cure).

“Har ka Naam Amrit Jall Nirmal eh aukhad jagh saraa; Gur Parsad kahe jann Bhikhan pavho mokh dwaraa.”

Bhai Ji further elaborated on December 1, 2024:

In this 2nd Shabad by Bhikhan Ji, Bhagat Ji describes a chronically ill patient.
Tears well up in his eyes, his body is weak, and his hair is milky white with old age. His throat is blocked by phlegm, and his speech is impaired, and in his helpless state he wonders what to do.

“Naino nèer bahe tann khinna bhye kes dudh vaani; rudha kanth Shabad nahi uchre ab kya kare praani.”

In this pitiful state, he prays, I hope the Lord King would be my Physician (I pray God saves/cures me). I know He saves His Saints.

“Raam Rai hoi Baid Banwari; Apne Sante leho ubaari.”

Pada 2 further describes his bodily illnesses.

In pada 3 Bhagat Ji says, where all medicines fail, the Lord’s Name is the Infallible cure for all diseases. This Naam can only be received by Gur Parsad, and it can lead you to the Door of Salvation.

“Har ka Naam Amrit Jall Nirmal eh Aukhad jag saara; Gur Parsad kahe jan Bhikhan pavho mokh dwara.”
