Raag Ramkali M.4
A Sikh pleads to be put to sewa of the Satguru and sadhsangat.
If I am blessed with high destiny, I would meet the humble servants of the Lord, without any delay; the Lord’s humble servants are pools of Nectar; by great good fortune, one bathes in them.
“Je vadh bhaag hovay vadh merey jann mildiya tilh na laieyeh; Har jann Amrit kuntt sabh nikey vadbhagee titt navaaiyeh.”
O Lord, let me work for the humble servants of the Lord; I would carry water, wave the fan, and grind corn, massage and wash their feet, and apply the dust of their feet to my forehead.
“Raam mo ko Har jann karey laaiyeh; hao paani pakha piso Sant aggey pagh malh malh dhurr mukh laaiyeh.” (rahao).
The Lord’s humble servants are great, greatest and exalted; they lead us to meet the True Guru; there is none as great as the True Guru. Meeting Him, one mediates upon the Lord, the Primal Being (within us).
“Har jann vadey vadh uchey jo Satgur melh milaieyeh; Satgur jevadh avar ne koyee milh Satgur Purakh dhiaaiyeh.”
Those who enter the Sanctuary of the Satguru meet the Lord. My Lord and Master preserves their honour. Some come with selfish motives, and sit before the Guru. They pretend to be in samadhee, like storks with their eyes closed.
“Satgur Sharan parey tin payaa mere Thakur laaj rakhaiieyeh; Eik aapne suaiiye bahey Gur aagey jio baggal samadh lagaiiyeh.”
Associating with wretched and lowly like the stork and the crow, is like feeding on a carcass of poison; Nanak says, O God unite me with the Sanggat; in the Sanggat I can be transformed into a swan. (saintly person).
“Bagula kaag neech ki sangat jaee korung bikhu mukh laiieyeh; Nanak melh melh Prabh Sanggat milh Sanggat hanss karaiiyeh.”
