Raag Gauree – Sukhmani Sahib – Astpadhi no 16. Pada no 8.
In this Astpadhi, Guru Ji traces some wondrous Gunn (Attributes) of God who is “roop na rekh na rang kich treh gunn te Prabh bhinn; tissay bujhaye Nanaka jis hovay suparsan.” (Slok).
He is “Parbrahm Parmeshar Gobind; kirpa Nidhan Dyal Bakshind.” (pada 1).
He alone has this power of “Haran bharan ja ka netar forh; tis ka mantar na jaane hor.” (pada 2).
Anyone He causes to be snared in His maya, ends up as “treh gunn ja ko bharamaye; janam mare firr aave jaaye.” (pada 3).
He is Infinite in His variety and colors.
“nanna roop nanna ja ke rang; nanna bhekh kare eik rang.” (pada 4).
His Essence is in His Naam, and anyone who He puts to Naam. ” kar kirpa jis Aapne Naam laaye; Nanak chauthe padh me so jann gatt paaye.” (pada 5).
His Eternal Naam always gives peace and this faith stems from the Guru.
“Sat Naam Prabh ka sukhdayee; biswaas Sat Nanak Gur te payee.” (pada 6).
No created one knows His extent or limits, and what He Wills, happens. “Karte ki mitt na jaane kiya; Nanak jo Tis bhave so varteeya.” (pada 7)
This is pada 8. The Sikh listening to the astounding Attributes of the Lord, is wonderstruck. He says.
Gazing at His wonders I am amazed and wonderstruck; one who gets this realization (of wonder at His Gunn) tastes an inner relish; His humble servants remain absorbed in His Love; through the Guru’s Words (Bani) they receive His Blessings.
“Bisman bisam bhaye bismaad; jin bujhiya tin aaya swaad; Prabh ke rang rach jann rahe; Gur ke Bachan padarath lahe.”
(God’s Servants) they are the Givers, the dispellers of pain; in their company, the world is saved; the slave of the humble servant of the Lord in very blessed; in his company, one’s mind gets attached to God; in humility he sing the Glories of the Lord; through the Guru’s Grace they receive blessings.
“Oye Datey dukh katanhaar; ja ke sang tarey sansaar; jan ka sewak so vadbhagee; jan ke sang Ek liv lagee; Gunn Govind kirtan jann gaavhe; Gur Parsad Nanak falh paavhe.”
