This Shantt has 4 padas. This is the final (4th) pada.
Guru Ji tells us about rivers. As they flow on, some tributaries and streams will form. After some distance, some will branch back into the main river and the waters are united. The jeevs are like that. After separation, their union with the Creator is dependent on their sanjogh – as ordained by their destinies.
The rivers and streams which separate may sometime be united again.
“Nadeeya vah vichuniya mela sanjogi Ram.”
In age after age, that which appears sweet, is full of poison. How rare is that yogi (united one) who understands this.
“Jug jug mitha viss bharey ko jaane jogi Ram.”
One who centers his focus on the True Guru (Shabad), knows Celestial Peace and recognizes the Lord.
“Koyee sahaj jaane Har pehchaney Satguru jin chetiya.”
Without the Name of the Lord, the thoughtless fools wander in delusion, and are ruined.
“Bin Naam Har ke bharam bhulay pacheh mugadh achetiya.”
Those whose hearts are not touched by worship of the Name, shall wail and weep at the end.
“Har Naam bhagat na riday Sacha se annt dhahi runieya.”
Nanak speaks the Truth, through the Shabad, those separated for long periods too, can be united with the True Lord.
“Sach kahe Nanak Shabad Sache melh chiri vichuniya.”
