A jeev isteri expresses her helplessness. She praises God and says only His Bani helps her to truly live.

When I remember You, I am in total bliss, as I forget You, I might just as well be dead; that mortal upon whom You shower Your Mercy Lord, he constantly remembers You.

“Tudh chit aaye maha ananda jis visray so marr jaaye; Dyaal hovay jis upar Karte so Tudh sada dhiaaye.”

My Lord and Master You are the honor of lowly ones like me; It is my prayer to You Lord, that I truly live only by constantly listening to Your Bani.

“Mere Sahib Tu mai maan nimanee; ardas kari Prabh Apne aagey sunn sunn jiwa Teri Bani.” (rahao).

May I become the dust of the feet of Your slaves (may I be blessed with humility) and be blessed enough to receive Your Darshan; by Your Grace I have found holy company, and enshrined Your Ambrosial Bani in my heart.

“Charan dhurh Tere jann ki hova Tere Darshan ko balh jaaiye; Amrit Bachan riday urh dharee tao kirpa te sang paaiye.”

I surrender my inner being to You. There is none other like You; only those whom You attach with Yourself, get truly attached, and such persons are truly Your Saints.

“Antar ki gatt Tudh peh saree Tudh jewad avar na koyee; jis nu laaiye leyeh so laage bhagat Tuhara soyee.”

I press my palms together and plead for this Gift, if it may Please You; Nanak prays may I adore You with every breath, and sing Your Praises night and day.

“Doye karh jorh maango eik daana Sahib tuthe paava; saas saas Nanak aradhey aath pahar gunn gaava.”
