A Sikh speaks to his inner self. He says he has at last found true happiness in his mind. This happiness was bestowed upon him through simran upon the Lord.
O my mother, my mind is at peace; I enjoy the ecstacy of millions of princely pleasures. Remembering the Lord in meditation, all my pains have vanished.
“Mai mere mann ko sukh; kott anand raaj sukh bhogvay Har simrat binsay sabh dukh.” (rahao).
The sins of millions of lifetimes are erased by meditating on the Lord. My mind and body has been purified, and I have found peace; gazing upon the Lord’s Perfect Form (Jote), all my hopes have been fulfilled, and with His Darshan, all my hunger (for worldliness) has been removed.
“Kote janam ke kilbikh nassey simrat paavan tann mann sukh; dekh Saroop puran bheyi aasa Darshan bhetat utree bhukh.”
The four great blessings, the eight spiritual powers, the wish fulfilling mythological cow and tree, all these come from the Lord; Nanak says, holding tight to the Sanctuary of the Ocean of Peace, you shall not suffer the pains of births and deaths, nor fall into the womb of reincarnation again.
“Char padarath astt maha sidh kamdhen parjaat Har Har rukh; Nanak Sharan gahee Sukh Saagar janam maran firr garab na dhukh.”
