SGGS Angg 483.

Raag Assa Bhagat Kabir Ji.

A jeev isteri muses about her relationship with her Husband, God.

I decorated myself to meet my Husband Lord; but He, the Sustainer of the Universe did not meet me.

“Kiyo shingar milan ke tayee; Har na milay Jagjivan Gosain.”

God is my Beloved Husband and I am His bride; the All Pervading Lord is so great and I am infinitesimally small.

“Har mero Pir hao Har ki bahouriya; Raam badde mai tanakk lahouriya.” (rahao).

The bride and the Groom dwell together; there is One Bed but Union is difficult.

“Dhan Pir Ekay sang basera; sej Ek peh milan dohera.”

Blessed is the soul bride who is pleasing to her Husband Lord; Kabir says, she shall not be reincarnated again.

“Dhan Suhagan jo Pia bhave; Kahe Kabir firr janam na aave.”

Bhai Ji further elaborated on August 3, 2024:

Bhagat Ji describes the journey of a jeev isteri.

All her external decorations amounted to nothing. The Lord did not meet her.
“Kiyo shingar Milan ke tayi; Har na milhe Jagjiwan Gosain.”

She learns to live in humility (“Raam badhe mai tanak lahoriya”) and accepts that she belongs only to God (“Har ki bahuriya”).

She realises the Lord lives in the same body house as her, but it is most difficult to Meet Him.
“Dhan Pir Ekay sang basera; sej Ek bhey Milan dohera.”

She finally realises that Union with Him depends on His Grace. If that happens, she will be saved from reincarnation.
“Dhan Sohagan jo Pih bhave; Kahe Kabir firh janam na aavhe.”
