Guru Ji records a delightful conversation between two jeev isteris. One jeev isteri is still striving for Union with her Beloved within her. The other blessed jeev isteri is already united. She has a radiant red color of God’s Love upon her. The striving jeev isteri is in awe of the radiance of the blessed one. She tells her. That red dress is so becoming. You look beautiful in it; (it appears), your mind has been enticed by Him and Your Husband Lord is Pleased with you.

“Lall cholna teh tann sohiya; Surjan bhani ta mann mohiya.”

How did you acquire this red beauty of yours?; Whose Love has rendered you so radiantly red?

“Kavan bani ri teri laali; kavan rang tu bheyi gulaali.” (rahao).

(I feel), you are so beautiful; you are a happy soul bride; your Beloved is in Your home; your home is blessed.

“Tum hi sundar tumhe suhaag; tum ghar Laalan tum ghar bhaag.”

The seeker continues praise of the blessed Saintly one.

You are pure and chaste, you are most distinguished; you have become pleasing to your Beloved and you have sublime understanding.

“Tu satvanti tu pardhan; tu Pritam bhani tu hi sur gyan.”

The blessed one responds in utter humility. My Beloved is Pleased with me and gave me this red color (of God’s Love); the blessed Glance of Grace by the Lord has left me enraptured.

“Pritam bhani ta rang gulaal; kaho Nanak sobh dhrist nihaal.”

She lays no claim to piety or effort. She says, In truth I did not do anything at all. My only effort was this; (since God is the real Doer), the Lord Himself decorated and adorned me.

“Sun ri sakhi eh hamri ghaal; Prabh Aap Shingaar Savaranhaar.”
