Raag Bilaaval (Bilawal) – Bhagat Ravidas Ji.

Bhagat Ji tells us about the blessed lives of the Saints. Wherever they go, they spread the fragrance of their love for God.

That family into which a Saint of God is born, whether of high or low social class, whether rich or poor, will have his pure fragrance spread throughout the world.

“Jeh kulh Sadh Baishno hoye; baran abharan rank nahi issar bimmal baas jaaniye jag soye.” (rahao).

Whether he is a Brahmin, a Vaishya, a Shudra or a Khashatariya, an outcaste, or a filthy minded person; he (the Saint), becomes pure by meditating upon the Lord, saves himself, and saves the families of both his parents.

“Brahman Bais Soodh aur Khatri Doom Chandaar Malesh mann sooye; hoye puneet Bhagvant Bhajan te aap taar taarey kulh dooye.”

Blessed is that village and the place of his birth, blessed is his purified family throughout the three worlds; one who drinks in the Sublime Essence (of God’s Name), abandons other tastes, intoxicated with the Divine Essence, he discards sin and evil.

“Dhan so gaon dhan so thaon dhan puneet kotumb sabh looye; jin piya saar rass tajhe ann rass hoye rass maggan darey bikh khooye.”

Amongst the religious scholars, warriors and kings, there is none equal to a Saint of the Lord; as the leaves of the water lily float free in the water, Ravidas says, so is their life in this world (in true detachment).

“Pandit surr shatarpatt raja Bhagat barabar aur na koye; jaise purein paat rahe jalh sameep bhan Ravidas janame jag oye.”
