Raag Sri Raag

Guru Ji tells us about the amazing Guru who is God like. We should lovingly worship the Guru (Shabad) with our minds and body; the Satguru (Shabad) is the Benefactor of the soul, and gives Support to all; act in accordance with the Words (Bani) of the Satguru, this is a True reflection; if you are not attuned to Sadhsanggat, know this that all your attachments to maya are mere ashes.

“Gur Parmeshar pujiye mann tann laye pyaar; Satgur Dataa jee ka sabhse de adhaar; Satgur Bachan kamahvne Sacha eh bichaar; bin Sadhu sanggat retiya maya moh sabh shaar.”

O my friend, cherish the Lord’s Name; in Sadhsanggat He comes to dwell in the mind and all your works are completed.

“Mere Saajan Har Har Naam samaal; Sadhu sanggat mann vassey puran hovay ghaal.” (rahao)

The Guru is All Powerful and Infinite. By great good fortune one is blessed with His Darshan; the Guru is beyond Fathom, Immaculate and Pure. There is none as Great as the Guru; the Guru (Shabad) is the Creator and Doer. The Gurmukh obtains True Glory; nothing is beyond the Guru. What He does, comes to pass.

“Gur Samrath Apaar Gur vadbhagee Darshan hoye; Gur Agochar Nirmalaa Gur jevad avar na koye; Gur Karta Gur Karanhaar Gurmukh Sachi soye; Gur te bahar kich nahee Gur (Shabad) kita lorhe so hoye.”

The Guru is the Sacred Shrine of Pilgrimage and the Wish Fulfilling Tree; the Guru is the Giver who gives Naam which saves the whole world; the Guru is All Powerful and Formless. The Guru is Lofty, Inaccessible and Infinite; the Glory of the Guru is sublime and beyond words, beyond the description of any speaker.

“Gur Tirath Gur Parjaat Gur Mansa Puranhaar; Gur Dataa Har Naam deh sabse deh adhaar; Gur Samrath Gur Nirankar Gur Uchaa Aggam Apaar; Gur ki mehma Aggam hai kya kathe kathanhaar.”

All the fruits your mind desires are with the Guru; by your pre ordained destiny you obtain the True Name; as you enter the Sanctuary of the Satguru you will never be destroyed again; Nanak says, may I never forget You Lord, my soul,my breath and body belong to You.

“Jithrey falh man bachiye tithrey Satgur paas; purab likhe paavnhe Sach Naam de raas; Satgur Sharni aaya bahurh nahi binaas; Har Nanak kade na visro eh jio pind Tera saas.”
