Naam is inexhaustible. It comes in the form of Shabads from the Satguru.

The Saints are blessed to receive devotional worship and the wealth of the Lord’s Name; the wealth of His Name cannot be exhausted and no one can estimate its worth; with the wealth of Naam their faces are radiant and they meet the True Lord.

“Bhagat khajana bhagtan ko deeya Naoo Har Dhan Sach soye; akhut Naam dhan nikhutay nahi kinne na keemat hoye; Naam Dhan mukh ujley hoye Har paaya Sach soye.”

Guru Ji tells the mind. Only through the Guru’s Shabad can you meet God; without the Shabad the world wanders around in delusion and receives punishment in the Lord’s Court.

“Mann mere Gur Shabadee Har payaa jaaye; bin Shabadey jag bhulda firda dargeh milhe sajaaye.” (rahao).

Within this body dwell the five thieves of lust, anger, greed, emotional attachment and egotism; they plunder the Nectar, but the manmukh does not realise, nor does anyone heed his complaint; the world is blind and it’s dealings are blind as well; without the Guru (Shabad), there is only pitch darkness.

“Eis dehi andar panch chor vassey kaam krodh lobh moh ahankara; Amrit luttey manmukh nahi bujhey koye na sunnay pukara; andha jagat andh vartara bajh Guru gobara.”

Indulging in egotism and possessiveness they are ruined; when they depart nothing goes along with them; but the gurmukhs meditate upon the Naam and always reflect upon His Name (Attributes); through the True (Eternally True and Perfect) Gurbani they sing the Lord’s Praises, and blessed with his Glance of Grace they are enraptured.

“Haumai mera kar kar vigutay kiho chalay na chaldeya naal; gurmukh hovay so Naam dhiaave sada Har Naam samaal; Sachi Bani Har gunn gavhe Nadree Nadar Nihaal.”

The spiritual wisdom of the Satguru is a steady Light within the heart. The Lord’s Kingly Command extends over all; the Saints lovingly pray day and night and receive Profits from the True Name; Nanak says, liberation is through the Lord’s Name and is received as one gets drenched with the Shabad.

“Satgur gyan sada ghat chanann amar sirr badshaha; andinn bhagat kare dinn ratee Raam Naam Sach laha; Nanak Raam Naam nistara Shabad ratey Har paha.”
