Raag Bilaaval (Bilawal) M.5

A Sikh sings Praises of the amazing Guru who gives Infinite blessings to His Sikhs.

He places the ones who strayed, back on the right path; such a Guru (Shabad), is found by great good fortune.

“Bhulay marag jinne batayaa; aisaa Gur vadbhagee payaa.”

O my mind, meditate and contemplate on the Name of the Lord; let the Beloved Feet (Bani) of the Guru, abide in my heart.

“Simar manaa Raam Naam chitarey; bass rahe hirday Gur Charan pyare.” (Rahao).

My mind was engrossed in lust, anger, greed and emotional attachments: the Guru (Shabad) broke my bonds, and liberated me.

“Kaam krodh lobh moh mann leena; bandhan kaat mukat Gur keena.”

I was experiencing pain and happiness, was being born, only to die again; the Lotus Feet (Bani) of the Guru, gave me Permanent Shelter.

“Dukh sukh karat janam funh muaa; Charan Kamal Gur Asram deyaa.”

The world is drowning in the ocean of fire; Nanak says, holding me by the arm, the True Guru saved me.

“Aggan sagar budhat sansaraa; Nanak baha pakad Satgur nistaraa.”

No one will help to put you on the right Path. Even if they do help a little, there will be some selfish motive behind their help. Of course, there will be some few sincere Sikhs of the Guru who will guide you towards the Path of Naam.

Here Guru Ji tells us about the Guru (Shabad) which places those are astray on the right Path. It is by great good fortune that one Meets/Unites with Shabad Guru Ji.

“Bhule marag jinne bataiya; aisa Gur vadhbhagi paaiya.”
