A Sikh sings Praises of the Satguru (Shabad) and declares his tek in Satguru/God.
The Shabad starts with a plea to the Satguru to bless him with the Prop (Support) of Naam; and when the True King (Satguru) is pleased, the world is relieved of its ills.
“Satgur pass benantiya milhe Naam adhara; tutha Sacha Patshah taap gya sansara.”
Having received Naam from the Satguru, the Sikh addresses God.
You are the Support and Shelter of the Saints, O True Creator Lord.
“Bhagta ki tek Tu Santa ki ote Tu Sacha Sirjanhara.” (rahao).
True (Eternal) is Your Storehouse and True is Your Court; True are Your Treasures and True is Your expanse.
“Sach Teri Samagree Sach Tera Darbara; Sach Tere khajeeniya Sach Tera Pasaara.”
Your Form is Inaccessible and Your Vision is Incomparably Beautiful; I am beholden to Your servants who Love Your Name, Lord.
“Tera Roop Aggam hai Anoop Tera Darsara; hao kurbani Teriya sewaka jin Har Naam pyara.”
All wishes are fulfilled when one meets (merges with) the Infinite and Inaccessible Lord; the Lord has met Guru Nanak. I am a sacrifice to Your Blessed Feet (Bani).
“Sabhe icha puriya ja paaeya Agam Apara; Gur Nanak miliya Parbrahm Teriya Charna ko balihara.”
