Raag Gauree – Sukhmani Sahib – Astpadhi 17, pada no. 4.

Astpadhi 17 tells us about God’s Sach and Sat nature and of the blessed humble sewaks of God.

We all make mistakes. As you become a sincere sewak, He does not allow His sewak to be shamed. He covers the faults of His sewak and protects his laaj; He surely saves the honour of His sewak.

“Apne jann ka parda dhakey; Apne sewak ki sarpar rakhey.”

He blesses His sewak with greatness and inspires the sewak to recite His Name.

“Apne dass ko deh vadayee; Apne sewak ko Naam japayee.”

He Himself preserves the dignity of His sewak; no one knows His state and extent.

“Apne sewak ki Aap patt rakhey; ta ki gatt mitt koyee na lakhey.”

No one is equal to the servant of God; His servants are the highest of the high; one who is enjoined to His service; Nanak says, such a servant becomes renowned in all ten directions.

“Prabh ke sewak ko ko na pahuchey; Prabh ke sewak uchh te uchhey; jo Prabh Apni sewa laeiyaa; Nanak so sewak deh diss pargatieyaa.”
