A Sikh who has received enlightenment goes deep within himself and reflects upon God’s Wondrous Play. He concludes by saying that so long as your faith rests in the Lord Alone, it does not matter if you are a householder or a renunciate. It is your faith/belief in God which matters, not the circumstances you choose to live in.

No one could prevent you from coming into this world, how can anyone prevent you from leaving it?; He who operates all these (coming and going), alone understands this, as all are immersed and will be absorbed in Him.

“Aavat kinne na rakhiya jaavat kyo rakhiya jaaiye; jis te hova soyee par jaane ja uss hi mahe samaahe.”

You are Great, and Wondrous is Your Will; whatever You do will surely happen, nothing else can materialise.

“Tuhai hai Vah Teri rajaaiye; jo kich kareh soyee par hoyeba avar na karna jaaye.”(rahao).

The chain of buckets on the Persian Wheel rotate, emptying out and filling again (in cycles); such is the Play of the Lord, and His Glorious Greatness.

“Jaise harhatt ki mala tindh laggat hai eik sakhni hor fer bhariat hai; taise hi eh khel Khasam ka ja jio uss ki vadiaaiye.”

Following the Path of intuitive awareness, one turns away from worldliness, and enlightenment dawns upon him; the enlightened one now reflects, and truly knows who is a householder, and who is a renunciate.

“Surti ke marag chal ke ultee nadar pargasee; mann vichaar dekh Brahm Gyani kaun girhi kaun udasee.”

All hopes rest upon the Lord and as one surrenders them to Him, one becomes free (without bondages); Nanak says, we all come from Him and resting our faith in Him, we find you become acceptable whether you are a householder or a renunciate.

“Jis ki aasa Tis hi saump ke eh rehiya Nirbaan; jis te hova soyee kar maaniya Nanak girhi udasee so parvaan.”
