Raag Dhanaasree (Dhanasree) M.5
A Sikh pleads for someone Mighty enough to free him from bondages.
“He should release me from bondage, unite me with God, and inspire me to recite the Lord’s Name; He should be able to make my mind steady and stable and stop its wanderings.
Is there such a True Friend as this?; I would give Him all my property, soul and heart and devote my consciousness to Him.
“Bandhan te chutkave Prabhu milavhe Har Har Naam sunavhe; asthir kare nichall eh manuaa bahurh ne kathu dhaavhe.”
“Hai kouu aiso hamra Meet; saggal samagree jio hio deo arpao apno cheet.” (rahao).
I wish too that I do not covet the wealth of others, or their bodies, nor do I engage in slander; I rather keep the company of the Saints, speak with Them, and keep my mind awake by listening to the Lord’s Praises.
“Par dhan par tann par ti ninda ein seyo preet na laggey; Santhe sang Sant sambakhan Har Kirtan mann jaggey.”
The Guru concludes the Shabad. Ask all these from God. Yes, these are excellent qualities to have. To have them within you, you need Naam which has all these and Infinite other qualities.
God is the Treasure of all Virtues, Kind and Compassionate, the Source of all Comfort; Lord of the world, Nanak begs for Your Name as a child pleads with his mother.
“Gunn Nidhan Dyal Purakh Prabh Sarab Sukh Dyalaa; Maange Daan Naam Tero Nanak jio mata balh Gopalaa.”
