Raag Sorath M.5

A Sikh who has received Gur Parsad sings Praises of God in gratitude. All his affairs have been resolved. The Guru sees everything, and concludes the Shabad with His observation.

“The Perfect Guru has granted His Grace; God has fulfilled my wishes; after my inner purificatory bath (“antargatt tirath malh naoo” – Japji Sahib), I have returned to my (inner) home; I have found bliss, happiness and peace.

“Gur Purey kirpa dharee; Prabh puri loch hamaree: kar isnaan greh aaye; anand mangal sukh paaye.”

O Saints, salvation comes from the Lord’s Name; while standing or sitting down, night and day, meditate on the Lord’s Name. Always do good deeds.

“Santo Raam Naam nistariye; uthat bethatt Har Har dhiaaiye andin sokrit kariye.” (rahao).

The Path of the Saints (Gurus) is the ladder of righteous living, found only by great good fortune; sins of millions of births are washed away, by focusing your consciousness on the Lord.

“Sant ka marag dharam ki pauri ko vadbhagee pavhe; kot janam ke kilbikh nassey Har Charni chit laaye.”

Sing Praises of your (within you) God forever Whose Almighty Power is Perfect; all beings and creatures are purified by listening to the True Guru’s Teachings (Bani).

Ustat karo sada Prabh apne jin puri kal rakhee; jee jantt sabh bhaye pavitra Satgur ki Sach Sakhi.”

The True Guru has implanted Naam within me and all obstructions have been destroyed, and pains eliminated; all my sins have been erased and I have been purified; Nanak says the servant has returned to his (inner) home in peace.

“Biggan binasan sabh dukh naasan Satgur Naam dhrirhaeyaa; khoye paap bhaye sabh paavan jann Nanak sukh ghar aaya.”
