Raag Wadhans (Vadhans) M.3.

Our Satguru is Shabad. Wherever you recite or remember the Shabad, the Satguru is with you.
This is pauri no 5 of Vadhans Ki Vaar M.4.

I am eternally grateful to the Guru who recites to me the Sermon of the Lord; I am forever a sacrifice to the Guru who has led me to serve the Lord.

“Tis Gur ko hao vaareiya jin Har ki Har katha sunaayee; tis Gur ko hao balharneh jin Har sewa banatt banaayee.”

The Beloved True Guru (Shabad) is always with me and wherever I may be, He saves me; most blessed is the Guru who imparted understanding of the Lord in me; Nanak says, I am a sacrifice to the True Guru who blessed me with the Lord’s Name (Attributes), and fulfilled all the desires of my mind.

“So Satgur Pyara mere naal hai jithe kithe mainu leh chadaiyee; tis Gur ko shabas hai jin Har sojee payee; Nanak Gur vitho vaariya jin Har Naam diya mere mann ki aas puraiyee.”

A Shabad in Praise of the Divine Satguru.

This is Pauri No.5 of Vadhans Ki Vaar M.4.

A Sikh says he is forever beholden to his Guru who has kindly shared the Lord’s Sermon (Gurbani, Shabad, Naam) with him.
“Tis Gur ko hao vaariya jinn Har ki Har katha sunaiyi.”

Even the sewa I do, was in fact thrust upon me as a blessing. The sewa I do is actually a means to save myself.
“Tis Gur ko sadh baliharne jinn Har sewa Bannat Bannaiyi.”

Such a Wonderful Guru is always with me and He saves me always wherever I may be.
“So Satgur Pyara mere naal hai jithe kithe mainu leh chadaiyi.”

This cannot be a physical Satguru. No Sikh can be carrying a physical Satguru with him to save him wherever he goes. This Satguru is in Shabad Form and He resides in the mann, the hirda of the Sikh.
A physical Satguru would be limited by time and space. Shabad Guruji is Beyond Time, Formless, Eternal, and is everywhere He is remembered and invoked.
