Raag Wadhans (Vadhans) M.5.

A conversation between a Sikh and His Guru. The Satguru tells the Sikh, the Lord’s Court (Darbar) is the most Lofty and Exalted; there is no end or limitation; millions upon millions, tens of millions seek (His Darbar); but they cannot find a tiny iota of His Mansion.

“Att Uchaa Ta ka Darbaraa; antt nahi kich paravaara; kot kot kot lakh dhaave; eik till ta ka Mahal na paavhe.”

Astounded, the Sikh asks in the rahao. When would ever be that auspicious moment, when God is met?

“Suhavee kaun so vela jit Prabh mela” (rahao).

Guru Ji continues.

Tens of thousands of Saints worship Him in adoration; tens of thousands of ascetics practice austere disciplines; tens of thousands of yogis practice yoga (which they claim leads to Union); tens of thousands of pleasure seekers chase after pleasures.

“Lakh Bhagat ja ko aradhey; lakh tapisar tapp hi sadhey; lakh jogisar kartey joga; lakh bhogisar bhogey bhoga.”

Guru Ji says, He dwells in every heart, but very few realise this.

“Ghat ghat vassey janney thora.”

The Sikh says (since You say He dwells within), is there any Friend who can help rip apart the screen of separation?;
I would make all efforts, oh, if only the Lord would be Merciful to me; I would sacrifice my body and soul to Him.

“Hai koyee Sajan parda tora; karo jattan je hoye Mehervanaa; ta ko deyi jio kurbanaa.”

The Sikh now recalls his journey.

After wandering around for so long, I came to the Saints (Guru); all my pains and misconceptions were removed; God blessed me with Amrit Naam and summoned me to the Mansion of His Presence; Nanak says my Lord is Lofty and Exalted.

“Firat firat Santan peh aaya; dukh bhram hamara sagal mitaeya; Mahal bulaeya Prabh Amrit bhuncha; kaho Nanak Prabh mera ucha.”
