Raag Gujri M.5
Guru Ji tells us it is foolish to rely on humans to help you. Only God has the Capability and Resources to help everyone.
Whoever I approach to ask for help, they are full of their own troubles; one who worships the Lord in his heart, (only he), crosses over the terrifying world ocean (i.e. overcomes all difficulties).
“Jis manukh pe karo benantee so apne dukh bhareya; Parbrahm jin riday aradhiya tin bhao sagar tareya.”
No one besides Guru – God can cut away our pain and sorrow; forsaking God and serving another, your honor, dignity and reputation are decreased.
“Gur Har bin ko na birtha dukh katey; Prabh tajh avar sewak je hoyee hai titt maan mahat jass ghatey.” (rahao).
Relatives, relations and family bound through maya (i.e. all are perishable), are of no avail; the Lord’s servant, though of lowly birth, is exalted. In his company, one gets the fruits of his mind’s desires.
“Maya ke sanbandh sain saak kitt hi kaam na aaya; Har ka daas neech kul uchaa tis sang mann banshtt falh payaa.”
Through evil means, one may get thousands and millions of enjoyments, but even so, his greed will not get satisfied; remembering the Lord, millions of dazzling lights (enlightenment) appear, and the Incomprehensible is understood.
“Lakh kot bikhiya ke binjann ta me trishan na bujhee; simrat Naam kot ujiaara bastt Agochar sujee.”
Wandering and roaming around I have come to Your Door, O Lord King, Destroyer of fear; servant Nanak yearns for the dust of the feet of the Saints (Guru), this has given me peace.
“Firat firat Tumre Dwar aaya Bhey Bhanjan Har Raiyaa; Sadh ke Charan dhur jan banshey sukh Nanak eh payaa.”
