SGGS Angg 483.

Raag Assa Bhagat Kabir Ji.

Bhagat Ji speaks to a fanatic Qazi who said it was right to kill others if it pleases God. The Qazi said he had read all the holy books. Bhagat Ji tells him all your reading makes no difference if your heart is not touched and no inner understanding wells up within you.
You keep your fasts to please Allah but you are prepared to kill living beings for your own benefits (just like “manas khaney kare nivaaj” – Ang 471); you look after your own selfish interests only and have no sympathy for others; your word is of no use.

“Roja dharey manave Allah suvadatt jee sangarey; aapa dekh avar nahi dekhay kahe ko chakh marey”

O qazi the One Lord is within you; you have never reflected upon Him nor beheld Him; you do not care for others you religious fanatic and you lead a worthless life.

“Kaji Sahib tohi me tera soch bichaar na dekhay; khabar na kare deen ke bauray ta te janam alekhay” (rahao).

Your holy Scriptures say Allah is True and He is neither male nor female (Guru Nanak Ji also says at Angg 685, God is “Naar na Purakh kaho kouu kaisey; He is neither Male nor Female – how can He ever be described?); but you gain nothing by reading and studying O mad man if you gain no understanding in your heart.

“Sach Kateb bakhaney Allah naar purakh nahi koyee; parhe gunay nahi kich baurey jao dil me khabar na hoyee”

Allah stays hidden in every heart; reflect upon this in your mind; the One Lord is in both Hindus and Muslims alike; Kabir says this out aloud.

“Allah ghaib sagal ghat bhittar hirday leho ubaree; Hindu Turak doho me Ekay kahe Kabir pukaree”
