SGGS Angg 453.
Raag Assa (Asa) M.5 Shantt Ghar 1.
This Shantt has 4 padas. The 1st pada speaks of the love for Bani which led to Union.
“Sahajey vakhani Amrit Bani Charan Kamal rang laaya”
The 2nd pada speaks of the blessings of sadhsangat.
“Vadbhagee vadbhagee satsangat payee Ram”
Pada 3 tells us about the blessed Bhagats who adorn His Court.
“Har Darey Har Dar sohan Tere Bhagat pyare Raam”.
This is the 4th pada in which a Sikh looks at God with awe and wonder and sings His Praises.
He is “Beanta” the Infinite One. O Infinite One, Your virtues are endless. How many of them can I sing?.
“Beanta beant gunn Tere ketak gaava Ram”
The dust of Your Feet (Bani – humility) I have found with great fortune.
“Tere Charna Tere Charan dhurh vadbhagi paava Ram”.
Bathing (in sadhsangat) in the Lord’s dust, my filth has been washed away and the pains of birth and death have departed.
“Har dhurhi naiyeh mailh gavaiyeh janam maran dukh lathey”
Inwardly and outwardly the Lord is ever present and always with us.
“Antar bahar sada hadurey Parmesar Prabh sathey”
Suffering departs singing the Lord’s blessed Kirtan (Praises), and one is not consigned to reincarnation again.
“Mitey dukh kalyan Kirtan bahurh jonh na paava”
Nanak says one swims across in the Guru’s Sharan as one becomes pleasing to the Lord.
“Binvant Nanak Gur Sharan tariyeh apne Prabh bhava”
