Guru Ji tells us about the blessings of Naam Simran.

Naam brings millions of desires to fulfillment; even on the path of death (miseries), Naam will be your companion and help you.

“Kot manorath aave haath; jamm marag ke sangi paanth.”

The Name of the Lord is as the (belief in) purifying waters of the Ganges; whoever meditates upon it, is saved. Drinking it in, the mortal does not wander in reincarnation again.

“Ganga jall Gur Gobind Naam; jo simrey tis ki gatt hovay pivat bahurh n jonh bhrmam.” (rahao).

(Naam Simran) is your worship, recitation, discipline, and cleansing bath; as you meditate upon Naam, you become free from desire.

“Puja jaap taap isnaan; simrat Naam bhaye nehkaam.”

It is your domain and empire, wealth, mansion, and Court; remembering Him in meditation brings about a perfect lifestyle.

“Raaj maal sadan Darbaar; simrat Naam puran aachaar.”

Slave Nanak has reflected deeply and come to this conclusion; without the Lord’s Name, all is perishable, and worthless as ashes.

“Nanak dass eh keeya bichaar; bin Har Naam mithya sabh shaar.”
