Raag Bilaaval – Bhagat Kabeer (Kabir) Ji.
Bhagat Ji speaks about the mind. You can abandon your home and wander to a secluded place in the forest. Yet, the mind will not give up its corrupted thoughts.
“Greh tajj ban khand jaaiye chun khaaiye kanda; ajhu vikaar na chodaaiye paapi man mandaa.”
With that scenario in mind, a question is posed in the rahao followed by a plea to be saved in His Sanctuary.
“Kyo chuto kaisay taro bhaujal nidh bharee; rakh rakh mere Bithlaa jan Sharan Tumari.”
In the 2nd pada Bhagat Ji again stresses that one cannot escape from evil and sinful thoughts even though one may make all minds of efforts to hold back such dirty thoughts. They return and cling on to you.
“Bikhe bikhe ki baasna tajee na jahee; anik jattan kar rakhiye firr firr laptahee.”
Kabir Ji takes man through deep introspection about his wasted life and he realises his faults.
“Jra jivan joban gya kich kiya na nikaa; eh jiarha nirmolko kaudi lagg mika.”
The final pada is of total surrender, recognizing his own faults, praising God and appealing to His Mercy to save him.
“Kahe Kabir mere Madhva Tu Sarab Biapee; Tum samsar nahi Dyal mohe samsar paapi”
