SGGS Angg 628.
Raag Sorath M.5.
God is awesome.
He protects you here and hereafter.
“Aithe othe rakhvala”
God/Satguru are Merciful to the lowly and downtrodden.
“Prabh Satgur deen dyala”
But who does He protect? Those who are His dass.
“Dass apne aap rakhe”
In each heart His Shabad resounds.
“Ghat ghat Shabad subhakhey.”
Thus be ever grateful to the Guru’s Bani.
“Gur ke Charan upar bal jaaiye”
Day and night remember Him who is perfectly pervading all places.
“Dinass rain sass sass samalee puran sabni thaiiye” (rahao).
He Himself helps and supports.
“Aap sahaaiye hova”
The Support of the True Lord is everlasting.
“Sache ka sacha dhooa”
The saints get glory.
“Teri bhagat vadiaaye”
But this glory is received only in His Sanctuary.
“Paayi Nanak Prabh sarnaaiye.”
Bhai Ji added on October 9, 2024:
All Bani in SGGS Ji is Dhur Ki Bani.
It is “Dhur Ki Bani aayi. ”
“Aayi” indicates Gurbani is Revelations given by Nirankar Ji to His Prophets, Satgurus and Bhagats.
It is not philosophical musings or some wise words put together. Bani is Divine Revelation. Gurbani will hold true forever for all persons in all situations.
One is truly blessed to be able to read or listen to Gurbani.
Gurbani is in Essence Nirankar Ji, Himself.
“Wah Wah Bani Nirankar hai Tis Jewad awar na koye.” (Ang 515).
Bhai Ji further elaborate on this Shabad on September 26, 2024:
God is always Merciful (Dyala) to the humble and lowly (deen).
Not to the egoistic and haughty.
You will notice in this Shabad, Guru Ji first sets out God’s Nature.
He is “Satgur Deen Dyala” and “Aethe Othe Rakhvala.”
Then Guru Ji says He saves His servants (dass) through the Shabad (Bani, Naam), which resounds within all of us.
“Dass Apne Aap Rakhe; Ghat ghat Shabad Subhake.”
Then, the dass is shown to be falling in love with the Guru’s Bani, and he lovingly recites/cherishes His Name night and day, everywhere.
“Gur ke Charan upar balh jaayi; dinnas rein saas saas samali puran sabni thaayi.”
Once haumai has been purged, the Sikh is no longer the Doer, and God is seen as the only Support (dhoha) of his actions, the Lord Himself saves the Sikh.
“Aap sahayi hova; Sache ka Sacha dhoha”
The Sikh is now a Bhagat, and is bestowed with Glory. This Glory only comes to those who take the Sanctuary of the Lord.
“Teri Bhagat Vadiaiyee; Payi Nanak Prabh Sharanayi.”
