Raag Bilaaval (Bilawal) – Bhagat Kabir Ji.

A Sikh pleads to be saved. I have broken Your Hukam. Please forgive my numerous faults.

Please save me. I have disobeyed You; I have not practised humility, righteousness or devotional worship. I am proud and egotistical and have taken a crooked path.

“Rakh leho ham te bigree; seal dharam jap bhagat na kinee hao abhimaan tedh pagree.” (rahao).

I thought this body was immortal, and pampered it. I now know it is a fragile and perishable vessel; I forgot the Lord who fashioned and crafted me. (Much to my shame), I became attached to another (maya).

“Amar jaan sanchee eh kaiiyan eh mithiya kachee gagree; Jinne nivaaj saaj ham kiye Tissay bisaar avar lagree.”

I am Your thief, I cannot be called holy. I have taken Your Sanctuary and fallen at Your Feet (Bani); Kabir says, please listen to my plea. Do not ever summon me to the messenger of death (tortures and miseries).

“Sandak tohe sadh nahi kahiyo Sharan bharey Tumri pagree; kahe Kabir eh bentee suniyho matt ghalo jamm ki khabree.”

Bhai Ji further elaborated on August 17, 2024:

A Sikh realises he has breached God’s Hukam in many ways. He has sinned. He goes to the Guru, admits all his faults, and pleads, “Please, save me”
“Rakh leho ham te bigdi.”

I have been arrogant. I have not practiced Righteousness nor done any devotional worship. I am proud and egoistic, and have pursued a crooked path.
“Seel dharam jap Bhagat na kinni hao abhiman tedh pagri”

I believed this body to be Immortal, and foolishly pampered this fragile and perishable vessel.
“Amar jaan sanchi eh kaiyan eh mithiya kachi gagri.”

The Lord formed and fashioned me, and provided for me, yet, I pledged my loyalty to others.
“Jinhe nivaaj saaj ham kiye tisse bisaar avar lagri.”

I am a thief, and cannot be called holy. I fall at Your Feet (Bani), seeking Your Mercy.
“Sandak tohe sadh nahi kahiyo Sharan pareh Tumri Pagri.”

Kabir says, Please listen to my plea. Lord, please do not Order the Messenger of Death (Miseries, Pain) upon me.
“Kahe Kabir eh benti suniaoh matt ghalho jamm ki khabri.”

Bhai Ji added on February 6, 2025:

When we do ardas before Guru Ji it must be in utmost humility. One must face up to his faults. As one admits his mistakes/sins, in His Kindness and Mercy, He moves to wipe out our lekhas.

This Shabad is couched as an Ardas by a Sikh admitting his countless mistakes.

“Rakh leho ham te bigdi.”
