A Sikh tells us about his experiences as he searched for God within himself.
I followed the Guru’s Teachings and searched and searched my body village; (during my searches) I found the wealth of the Lord’s Name (Attributes).
“Gurmatt nagree khoj khojayee; Har Har Naam Padarath payee.”
“The Lord’s Name has enshrined peace in my mind; the fires of desires were extinguished in an instant when I met the Guru (Shabad), all my hunger (for maya) has been abated.
“Mere mann Har Har shaant vasaaiyee; tisna aggan bujhi khin antar Gur miliye sabh bhukh gavaaiyee.” (rahao).
O mother, I truly become alive when I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord; the Merciful Guru has implanted the Attributes (of God), through Naam in me.
“Har gunn gaavha jivaan meri mayee; Satgur Dyaal Gunn Naam dhrirrhaiyee.”
I searched and yearned for my Beloved Lord; joining the Sadhsanggat I relished the subtle essence of the Lord.
“Hao Har Prabh pyara dhundh dhundhayee; satsanggat milh Har rass payee.”
As my destiny became prescribed upon my forehead, I found the Lord; (in truth), it was Guru Nanak (Shabad roop), who became pleased and blessed me.
“Dhur mastakk lekh likhay Har payee; Gur Nanak thutha melay Har bhai.”
