Raag Dhanaasree M.5

A Sikh meets his friend. The friend is amazed at the aura of the Sikh, radiance emanating from his every pore. He poses a question. How did you become so full of life, cheerful, healthy, full of optimism and love for all?

The Sikh replies. I now pray to, and meditate upon the Savior Lord; He purifies sinners in an instant, and has cured all my ills.

“Ab Har Rakhanhaar chitareyaa; patit puneet kiye khin bhittar saglaa rogh bidareiya.” (rahao).

I spoke to the Holy Saints (Shabad Guru, Sadhsanggat), and my lust, anger and greed were eradicated; I repeatedly meditated upon the Perfect Lord, and even all my companions were saved (by Him).

“Gosht bheyi Sadh ke Sangam kaam krodh lobh mareiya; simar simar Puran Narayan sangee sagley tareayaa.”

The Mool Mantra, the Essence of the One, became my cure as I enshrined faith for God in my mind.”

“Aukhad Mantar Mool man Ekay mann biswass Prabh dhareiya.”

(At Angg 156, Guru Nanak Dev Ji tells us:

“Aukhad Mantar Mool mann Ekay je kar dhrirh chit kijjay re.”

And at Angg 1040, Guru Nanak Dev Ji, again tells us:

“Mool Mantar Har Naam Rasaeyen kaho Nanak Pura paaieya”).

Guru Ji concludes the Shabad.

Nanak ever longs for the dust of the Lord’s Feet. Again and again, I am a sacrifice unto Him.

“Charan rein banshey nit Nanak puneh puneh balihareiya.”
