SGGS Ang 1374

Shalok Bhagat Kabeer Ji

There are several passages in SGGS Ji where Guru Ji says God Himself is Present.

When the Guru Shabad has struck your suratt, and aadi, beaadi, upaadi have vanished from the body. In addition the Sikh is no longer affected by happiness or sadness. Then, we can say, the Sikh has vanished, only God, “tab Har Aape Aap” remains.

“Kabir Gur laaga tabh jaaniye mitte moh tann taap; harakh sogh dajhe nahi tab Har Aape Aap.” (Ang 1374).

Similarly, in this Slok, Bhagat Ji says, the quality of forgiveness is of such vital importance, when a Sikh uses “khima” i.e. forgiveness to forgive someone and move forward, such an act is truly a Godly act.

Where there is Enlightenment, there you find Righteousness, where there are lies (falsehoods), there will be the mark of sin (evil); where there is greed, there will be death (One becomes dead spiritually), where there is forgiveness, there is God, Himself.

“Kabir jaha gyan teh Dharam hai jaha jhuth teh paap; jaha lobh teh kaal hai jaha khima teh Aap.”

“ਕਬੀਰਾ ਜਹਾ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਤਹ ਧਰਮੁ ਹੈ ਜਹਾ ਝੂਠੁ ਤਹ ਪਾਪੁ ॥

Kabeeraa jahaa giaan tah dharam hae jahaa jhooth tah paap.

ਜਹਾ ਲੋਭੁ ਤਹ ਕਾਲੁ ਹੈ ਜਹਾ ਖਿਮਾ ਤਹ ਆਪਿ ॥੧੫੫॥

Jahaa lobh tah kaal hae jahaa khimaa tah aap. ||155||”
